The Biblioteca di Archeologia e Storia dell’Arte della Sovraintendenza ai Beni Culturali of the Comune di Roma, was created in 1872 following the appointment of the Municipal Archeological Committee and the publication of the ‘Bullettino’. It was however only in the seventies that it remained in its present place on the ground floor of the Casa dei Vallati, the seat from the thirties of the Sovraintendenza and at present the Ufficio Monumenti Antichi e Scavi.
