Along the large thoroughfare, the ruins of a 1-2 c. AD building are still visible.
The monument was discovered at the end of the thirties. During the final excavations to construct via Imperiale, a country farmhouse was demolished, revealing the existence of an even older agricultural complex. The discovery is an example of the agricultural development flourishing in the Roman suburbs from the late Republican period up till our own century.
The principal structure is round, with a central pillar and network surface. Initially, the building was known as a temple or funerary monument. Only later, during the post-war years, was it recognized as a cistern.
