When I came back to Rome from the Gallia having achieved my goals well in that province, the Senate emitted a decree saying that on my return I would have to consecrate the Ara della Pace Augusta at the Campio Marzio and stated that the magistrates, priests and vestal virgins should celebrate an annual sacrifice (Res gestae divi Augusti 12,2).
